    My hand plunges into the dumpster’s foul abyss. My fingers wriggling until I feel it! I firmly grasp the rotting sphere and pull it to safety. I can relate to this battered fruit with decaying, torn skin that exposes painfully bruised flesh. Life in a cardboard box is brutal. Each moment on the streets is misery. As I lift the peach gingerly to my lips to savor each bite, I will remember to eat around the mold as if it didn’t exist much like I am treated. After all, any food is welcome when you haven’t eaten in two days.
