Plane Carrying David Copperfield Makes Emergency Landing

It was no trick this morning when a private jet carrying David Copperfield was forced to make an emergency landing in Peoria, IL after the plane started making strange noises. Copperfield was traveling from Las Vegas to New York City, where he was scheduled to make an appearance on the “Today” show.

Copperfield later told the show, “We were 37,000 feet in the air and I recorded (the strange noise) because it was lasting for a long time. I heard this sound (crackling), and it wouldn’t stop. I felt kind of freaked out and they told us we have to go back for our descent. We were going in a spiral with G force, and we finally got to the ground … and it turned out there was snow all around.”

I for one am not a great flier so I can sympathize with the magician.  It’s just too bad when you’re that high in the air all the magic in the world isn’t going to help.   The bottom line however, is that everyone on the plane was OK which is more than we can say for a lot of the accidents reported throughout the year.

By the way, when’s the last time Copperfield really did anything huge on TV?  I’d like to see this guy perform a sick illusion.  I mean I guess I could go to Vegas and all that but come on David.  We’re waiting for another Statue of Liberty disappearing act!
