Going bald is not set-in stone… there are plenty of treatments available for both Men and Women.  Obviously you will need to understand your type of hair loss (feel free to check our FAQ for basics) but once you understand your hair loss, the next step is to pick your treatment.

Here are at Hair Loss Geeks we have put together a basic shopping list for anyone looking for all the reccomended treatments in one place.

Obviously you can pick and choose which treatments is right for you and be sure to leave comments on how you get on and provide suggestions for other users.

1. Minoxidil – Rogaine (US) /Regaine (UK)/Kirkland

Rogain or Minoxidil as it’s known is the number one treatment recommended for male pattern baldness and is also available for women.  We always suggest the foam as it’s easiest to apply and has less problems.spacer

As with all treatments be sure to read the instructions carefully as often the process you use can effect the overall benefits provided.

In studies – 26% of men using Rogaine show minimal hair growth versus 16% using the placebo.

Tip: Rogaine takes time to work so test it for at least 4 months before deciding it’s not right for you.

We recommend getting Minoxidil products from Amazon as the service is top notch and it’s way cheaper than your local chemist or shop.

2. Caboki

Caboki does not stop hair loss but is an awesome way of concealing hair loss. It’s only been out since last year but we have not come across anyone that found it did not improve their look in some way.

Obviously by using only Caboki you will still go bald… but we find that using Caboki in the short term in conjuction with Rogaine is a great solution.

We recently did a blog post that goes into more detail about this awesome product – Is Caboki A Scam?

3.Ketoconazole -  Nizoral Shampoo

Like with all hair loss treatments, Nizoral is not the magic cure but some people have seen great results and it’s really easy to incorporate into your daily routine.

It’s marketed as an anti-dandrufff shampoo and it can help to reduce sebum levels (oil in your hair) which keeps your hair follicles healthy and can potentially lower overall scalp DHT.

If you have especially greasy hair then it’s well worth giving Nizoral a test and it’s so simple to use that everyone should at least try it at least once in conjunction with another treatment like Minoxidil.
