Kerry is: Still Catholic, Bush Beaten, and Now Brow Lifted

Yesterday passed without a single major media picture of John Kerry after Ash Wednesday services. The solidarity he showed with his Catholic faith on the election trail might not have been something he needed to flaunt, or wanted to, this year. When in competition with Bush it seemed an important political message to show that he was a bit more moderate than the ‘Massachusetts liberal’ he’d been portrayed as. This year, Ash Wednesday came and went with the spotlight shining instead on the resignations from the board of the Catholic Charities over same-sex-couple’s right to adopt.

Kerry did make the limelight for his failed presidential bid when Dubya told the world that the bin Laden tape released prior to the election may have given him the needed bump in the polls. So bin Laden gave him Ohio? Guess the world will never know how many licks it takes to get to the center of the tootsie pop. Bush revealed his strategery(sic): let people know that if a bad guy like Osama bin Laden didn’t want him in office there must be something right with him.

Does all this shine a better or worse light on John Kerry for a possible bid in 2008? Bostonist isn’t sure. What we have become aware of that Johnny K may have a brand new pair of eyelids. Back in January the folks over at GoodPlasticSurgery.com gave us some photographic evidence to ponder. Perhaps it’s not just Botox anymore. Our money is on the closer shave of the Fusion.
