Homecoming 2014 Breaks Records
Despite weather scares and location changes, Homecoming 2014 broke attendance records all throughout the week. Here’s a quick recap:
Monday – Six King contestants and six Queen contestants duked it out for this year’s Homecoming King and Queen crown during Monday’s contest. Each contestant participated in a Dress for Success portion, a talent portion, and a Q&A portion to win the judges and the crowd over. EUC Auditorium was packed with over 450 students, faculty, and staff.
Tuesday – Hypnotist Paul Ramsey was on stage in the EUC Auditorium, helping students find their inner performer while the audience was full of laughs. More than 500 students attended the show, a complete sell out for EUC Auditorium.
Wednesday - At noon, Stuff-a-Plush brought students out to create their own stuffed animal from choices such as dragons, teddy bears, or poodles. 200 students walked away with a one-of-a-kind creation to celebrate Homecoming. That evening was the CAB Comedy Show featuring Ron G., Andrew Fisher, and Jen Kober who performed to another sold out crowd for EUC Auditorium!
Thursday - Halloween came early with Nightmare on College Ave, featuring carnival food trucks, games, and a haunted house. Music was provided by DJ Trellz and 755 students came to dance, eat and play!
Friday – To kickoff Homecoming weekend, CAB brought PartyNextDoor to campus. More than 680 students came out to hear him perform and show off their best Halloween costume.
Saturday – A record-breaking 1,050 students came out to the CAB Homecoming Day Party! Food was provided by Stamey’s BBQ, music was provided by The Breakfast Club, and students enjoyed free t-shirts and other giveaways. A new Homecoming King and Queen were crowned; Claire King is the 2014 Homecoming Queen and Cam Covitz is the 2014 Homecoming King.
