Our "ESP Triple Ristretto" espresso shots are the basis for all espresso based drinks and our popular House Blend drip coffee is a local staple. We serve exceptional artisanal teas with over twenty choices to satisfy a vast array of personal tastes. our story
Bean & Leaf is a family owned and operated coffee house in the heart of downtown New London, Connecticut. In addition to our love of great coffee, we are a family that cares about good friends, great music, the environment, sustainability, and social equity. Our business started with our simple craving for exceptional coffee. After roasting our first pound of green coffee beans in an old popcorn popper, we were hooked! Our initial excitement quickly developed into a passion. Over the next few years we experimented with several different roasting devices and began to craft our roasting profiles. We now proudly roast our beans in a 24-kilo Diedrich drum roaster in our own roasting headquarters. We believe in roasting our coffees lighter, emphasizing the subtle flavor essences of each bean varietal over the charred flavor of darkly roasted beans.
We started Bean & Leaf with a simple vision: Provide quality fresh-roasted coffee beans, the finest teas, properly prepared, delicious beverages. Add to that a focus on being good global citizens through fair, responsible coffee and tea buying practices, sourcing of local foods and goods, the use of environmentally sound packaging, recycling and composting, providing an outlet for local artists, musicians and poets, and establishing a safe place for community and connection – and you have the formula for our company.
