Sun
Yesterday was sunny*. I’d heard that Seattlites feel an absolute imperative to Go and Do on sunny days during the rainy season, but yesterday was my first real personal experience. First, I started my dryer and dishwasher, both of which vent copious amounts of humidity directly into the apartment. Then I opened all my windows and walked.
Since I had no actual reason to leave my apartment other than the beautiful weather outside (and terrible weather inside), I walked to nearby Cal Anderson park with a book, a bottle of water, some crackers, and an apple. I sat on a bench in the sun by the reflecting pool.
It was cold, even in the sun and through gloves a bit too thick for thumbing, but the park was full of people just like me, pretending it was a perfect summer day.
* Read: mostly cloudy.
