John A. Volpe National Transportation Systems Center (Volpe Center) Job Opening: Operations Research Analysts

The Volpe Center in Kendall Square, Cambridge, MA is seeking Operations Research Analysts to join the Volpe Center’s world-class technical teams in providing a wide range of technical products and services to enhance the safety, security and operation of national traffic management systems, information, and programs. In this role, you will analyze and evaluate organizational processes, systems, and data; develop support tools; and participate in technical teams conducting applied research studies to meet the requirements of our clients including the Department of Defense and the Federal Aviation Administration among others. The Volpe National Transportation Systems Center (Volpe Center) is part of the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) Research and Innovative Technology Administration (RITA).

If you have strong research and analytical skills in a scientific or technical field, and enjoy solving challenging technical problems in a collaborative and entrepreneurial environment, you will enjoy working with us.

We have several openings in the following Centers of Innovation (COI’s):

Safety Management Systems: This COI anticipates and responds to challenges in safety management for all modes of transportation, addressing highly complex safety requirements.

Communication, Navigation, Surveillance, and Traffic Management Systems: This COI maintains and applies internationally recognized capabilities in communication, navigation, surveillance, operations management, and associated IT disciplines to enhance the capacity, safety, and security of next-generation transportation systems.
