AACR Journals Metrics

According to Thomson Reuters' Journal Citation Report® (JCR; Thomson Reuters 2014), publications from the American Association for Cancer Research (AACR) continue to be rated among the most influential journals in cancer research and medicine. The entire portfolio of AACR journals ranks in the top 25% of all oncology journals in terms of Impact Factor. Cancer Discovery’s Impact Factor increased notably in the current JCR, from 10.143 to 15.929. Cancer Research and Clinical Cancer Research both rank in the top 2% of total citations, with Cancer Research, the oldest cancer research journal in the world, maintaining its standing for 18 years as the journal receiving the most citations in the oncology category. Impact Factor: 

As reported in the 2013 release of the JCR, all AACR journals continue to rank in the top 25% of oncology journals with regard to Impact Factor. Cancer Discovery, Cancer Research, and Clinical Cancer Research ranked within the top 6% of the oncology category.

Five-Year Impact Factor: 

The standard Impact Factor measures citations to journal articles published within a 2-year period. The 5-year Impact Factor evaluates citations to journal articles published within a 5-year period to provide a measure of a journal's longer-term influence. AACR journals are all in the top 25% among oncology journals with respect to 5-year Impact Factor. In addition, Cancer Discovery, Cancer Research, and Clinical Cancer Research rank within the top 8% in the oncology category for 5-year Impact Factor.

Eigenfactor: 

The Eigenfactor uses methods from network theory to rank the influence of journals, much as Google's PageRank algorithm ranks the influence of Web pages, by identifying journals as influential if they are cited often by other influential journals. The AACR journals are ranked in the top 25% of oncology journals as ranked by Eigenfactor. Cancer Research and Clinical Cancer Research rank 2 and 3, respectively, by Eigenfactor in the oncology category.
