About/Contact

There is no freedom of religion when a woman is not free to act according to her own conscience.

There is no freedom in the marketplace when a woman is paid according to her gender rather than her contributions to society.

There is no human right for men to control women.

This blog exists because that, but perhaps you’re seeking something more specific. Scroll down for the following:

1. About the blog

Equality and justice are fantastic ideas, sure, but this blog exists because your power to make change is truly unlimited. Are you ready to dig into modern feminism and the quest for reproductive justice? Perfect. Come on over. Or perhaps you’d like to brush up your skills as an activist, a change agent, a person who cares. Let’s roll.

Content is divided into two sections:

Commentary

Your Activism Guide

Bonus: Never Doubt You Can Make Change

2. Writing for you

The written word has power to spread change in a way that spoken words can’t always accomplish.  Since asking for what you want is most likely to produce results, let me say openly that I’d love to write a column in your publication or — big dream — land a book deal. If you are a likeminded editor or literary agent, and you like my stuff, let’s talk.

Here are a few samples beyond this blog:

The Washington Post: Women Overlooked for Obama’s Cabinet

Huffington Post: Love Your Body Day: A Woman’s Body Politic

RH Reality Check: A Summer of Choice: What We Learned In Germantown

3. Media and speaking for you

I’m a nationally sought expert on topics ranging from abortion, birth control and reproductive rights to body image, cultural representations of women, economic justice, violence against women and anything feminist worth dreaming up. I’ve flown around the country to do keynotes, speak to classes and fire up grassroots rallies. I Skype, Google Chat, Tweet Chat, whatever it takes to get the good word out. I’d be honored to come speak to your group.

To members of the media, I’d be glad to serve as a resource for your research, your radio program, your televised debate.

Here are a few samples beyond this blog:
