Sublimation FAQ’s:

We offer two different types of dye sublimation for all of our custom orders:

Regular Sublimation – on pre-assembled pieces-Limited sublimated logo locations(varies by style) and color choices. Best for customers who are simply looking to add their logos to a blank white rash guard.
Full Sublimation – Full custom seam to seam sublimation. No limitations on colors, full color, custom colors, etc.

In order to determine which type of sublimation is necessary for your order, please review the FAQ’s below. Being able to place your order correctly the first time with the assistance of these FAQ’s will help avoid any unnecessary delays in your order being processed and completed in a timely manner.

Can i choose different colored sleeves than the options that are available?

Yes. When ordering a Regular Sublimation rash guard(short and long sleeve) you have your choice of Black, Blue, Purple, Grey, or Brown rank sleeves and side panels, however if those are not the colors you wish to have, you can purchase a rash guard with custom colors. A custom color for sleeves/rank panels is considered a Full Sublimation.

Can i have my logos or text printed on sleeves? – Yes and no. With a Full Sublimation order, yes you can with minimal limitation. On the regular sublimations, there are limitations due to the nature of Dye Sublimation. For instance, you cannot print a white logo on a blue sleeve as there are no white inks. Printing on a colored sleeve is limited to mainly darker colors for your logos or text-for the most part Black.

Can i make the body of my rash guard black with my Rank color Sleeves/Panels?

Yes. That is a Full Sublimation. You can make the body of the rash guard any color you wish with a Full Sublimation purchase, as well as the sleeves/side panels(if desired).

Do i really need vector or high resolution artwork and logos?

Yes. In order for our artists to be able to create the most desireable product for our customers, we must first have quality artwork. Vector logos can be scaled to any size without loss of quality or pixilation. Hi resolution jpegs will also work, though there is less room for our art team to tweak the artwork if necessary to optimize it for your order. Fill size should be no less than 300KB for jpegs.

Do you ship internationally?

Yes, we do. You must select the international shipping option on the order form.

Do you provide free samples?

Yes we do. We can send you a sample of your logo on a piece of scrap material(patch, rash guard, or shorts) so that you can have a physical representation of the dye sublimation process on our materials. This often helps customers decide on what specifically they would like to purchase. Same rules will apply for artwork.

Why does it take so long to upload files?

Your file size and your network connection are the two main factors affecting upload speed. Another way to ensure your file gets uploaded in a timely manner is flattening your files. Please be patient.

Should I include any fonts with my files?

NO.  Instead, please ensure that all fonts are outlined prior to file upload.  If you are using Photoshop, please provide flattened file only.

What is the difference between raster and vector?

Raster-based artwork such as photos or flattened artwork (from Adobe Photoshop) are made up of tiny squares (pixels), and depending on your resolution and/or final output size desired, the file could have a low quality end result.  Any raster elements you wish to use should have a high enough resolution (DPI) before considering them for your large format product.

Vector-based artwork such as illustrations or clip-art style elements (from Adobe Illustrator) is made with mathematical calculations, and can be scaled up to any size without losing quality.  Keep in mind that any effects used in Adobe Illustrator are raster-based and have transparency:  this greatly adds to file size and you must have correct settings in your “Document Raster Effects Settings” to ensure best output for these effects.  If you are doing a photo-quality print on a 36″ x 48″ poster, and leave the raster effects settings at default 72 DPI – you may see tiny squares in your drop shadows, as opposed to a smooth shadow.

What if i have questions that havent been addressed on this FAQ?

As with any custom production service, there are always going to be special circumstances. If your needs have not been addressed here, please email our customer service, or call our customer support line prior to making your order so that we can assist you further 1 on 1 to assure your order is done right and placed correctly the first time through.
