Raise More Money

Need to plan an event and invite potential donors? Want to know which of your high-dollar donors have yet to max out? Find donors or potential donors based on multiple search criteria, including: flagged donors (i.e., coalitions), occupation, zip code, etc. Search by a number of money criteria too, including: most recent gift, total number of gifts and more.

Response Analysis

You have an active direct mail program but you need to know what lists are successful and by how much. Our Response Analysis Reports (also known as “Bluebooks”) show your mail code or package returns by quantity, gross, cost, net and more.

Where is your money coming from? Based on requests from leading campaign and PAC fundraisers, CMDI programmers developed over 50 different detailed reports. Programming staff is available to produce unique reports that fit your needs.

Fundraising Trends Analysis

Every month Dexter automatically creates 19 reports that breaks down and compares your income by recency, frequency, donation amount and number of gifts, accompanied by color coded pie charts. Perfect as handouts at your next finance meeting, these reports are easily exported to a PDF document or sent to a printer.

Solicitor Tracking

Track the progress of fundraising solicitors – whether staff or volunteer – through Dexter’s “Tracking Number” program. This program assigns a unique number to each solicitor and ties it to the gifts they bring in. Dexter has several Detailed Reports built to provide you with all the information you need to know about each solicitor’s fundraising status.

DexFile – FEC Filing Software

Filing accurate and timely Compliance reports with the FEC is vital to avoid hefty fines. DexFile is the companion FEC filing software, available to all Dexter clients. Memo text will automatically appear for records with exception codes or you can fill in your own within the gift record. In-Kind contributions, partnership attributions, redesignations, reattributions and other special situations are shown correctly after importing from Dexter. Best efforts updates are easily reported on amended reports. CMDI also has experience filing with the IRS, which makes us unique among our competitors. You’ll be surprised how much easier FEC or IRS filings can be when using DexFile!

Adjustment Tracking

Enter refunds, charge backs, bounced checks, split contributions and all other necessary adjustments into Dexter, and they will import in perfect FEC format into DexFile.

Balance and Reconcile

Several pre-built reports assist in reconciling bank statements to the database. A few of the report options include looking up credit cards by last four digits (helpful in tracking charge backs!), outputting a list of adjustments by date and type, as well as providing detailed accounting of gifts by contribution type and date.

Best Efforts

Follow up a second time with donors who have contributed above the threshold but not yet provided their occupation and employer information. Dexter provides an easy method for selecting those who fit this criteria and marks their record so you – and the FEC! – know that you have attempted to obtain this information.

Compliance Coding

Use these Exception Codes and you will always be aware of your compliance issues and progress in resolving them before FEC-mandated deadlines. Dexter tracks donors whose contributions require follow-up correspondence and makes it easy to prepare letters for various compliance situations.

Donors represent some of a campaign’s most enthusiastic volunteers. Past clients have used Dexter to identify donors living in vital precincts and generate calls lists and walk sheets for them to secure votes from their neighbors on election day.

Dexter makes it easy to keep track of your donor’s and volunteer’s interests or needs. Each record can be assigned a “flag” or “keyword.” For example, if you assign the keyword “veteran” and the flag “bumper sticker requested” it’s simple to send a “Veterans for Smith” bumper sticker to the appropriate supporter.

Dexter’s import module allows you to import all your various lists into one central location. Import your messy excel spreadsheets of volunteers, business cards, coalition leaders and personal contacts and keep them in Dexter’s Volunteer section.

Easily assign tasks and then follow up with your political team. Give multiple tasks to one group or one task to multiple groups. Assign tasks by category and priority.
