Credentials

spacer Mike Unger has represented injured people his entire career. For over twenty five years, he has successfully pursued some of the largest and most recognizable businesses and institutions in the country, on behalf of his injured clients. He has secured many recoveries in excess of a million dollars. Mike has protected the rights of injured clients, including car accident and construction site accident victims, victims of drunk drivers, motorcyclists, bicyclists, patients harmed by medical malpractice, persons injured by defective products or drugs, and railroad workers injured on the job, to name a few examples.

The quality of Mike’s representation of his clients, and the size of his recoveries for them,  has led to numerous recognitions by his peers and the legal media.  He has been repeatedly named to “Best Lawyers In America”, and he has received the Minnesota Lawyer’s “Attorney of the Year” recognition more than any other injury lawyer in Minneapolis or Saint Paul. In 2009, he received the Minnesota State Bar Association’s highest recognition, the “Professional Excellence Award”. For over twenty five straight years, Mike has received the highest possible ranking of professional ethics and ability by the Martindale Hubbell law directory, the oldest national attorney rating service.

In addition to his work counseling his clients and advocating for their legal rights, Mike has been a leader in the community and the Minnesota legal profession. In the community, he served a dozen years as a Board member for local United Way organizations,  was selected by the Minnesota Legislature to serve on the University of Minnesota Board of Regents, and served as parish council chair for his church.  His work in the legal profession has also been one of leadership.  He has been selected as a leader of the local and state Bar Associations, and he has worked with both the Minnesota Federal District Courts and the Minnesota Supreme Court to improve the practice of law. Mike has served on selection committees, including once as Chair,  for appointing U.S. Magistrate Judges.  He also served for over a decade on the advisory committee to review and revise the rules of procedure governing all lawsuits seeking money damages in Minnesota State Courts.  He was appointed by the Supreme Court to the Minnesota Lawyers Professional Responsibility Board, where he served as Vice Chair.
