we're closer than ever to cures. Celebrate with the most influential endurance training program for charity in the world.
Since 1988, The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's (LLS) Team In Training (TNT) has grown to be the single largest and most successful endurance sports training program for charity. More than 600,000 participants, from first timers to seasoned athletes, have trained with TNT and achieved their best at marathons, half marathons, triathlons and cycling events. Together, they've raised over $1.4 billion to benefit the mission of LLS.
With professional coaches, participants are physically motivated and personally challenged to do their best. Participants add fundraising for cancer to the challenge of training for an endurance event, helping LLS to award millions of dollars to advance blood cancer research and direct services to patients and their families.
TNT Gets Cures To The Finish Line: It's programs like TNT that enable LLS researchers to discover therapies that save lives now. Critical treatment innovations such as radiation, chemotherapy and stem-cell transplantation all started with blood cancer therapies. Nearly 40% of all cancer drugs approved by the Food & Drug Administration since 2000 were developed for blood cancer patients. Five have already been approved for patients with other cancers.
Team In Training National Capital Area Chapter is recruiting teams for the Spring Season for marathon and half-marathon sport offerings.
