Linden Lab, the maker of Second Life, announced that it bought Blocksworld from the Swedish studio Boldai. Blocksworld is a children’s game that’s described as ‘a mix between Lego and Minecraft’.

Blocksworld is an iPad game in which players use cubes, wedges, rockets, wheels, motors and more to easily create 3D models of anything they can imagine – from race cars to animals to robots and more. The models come alive with realistic physics simulation, and users can play, interact with, or even explode their creations.

“Blocksworld is a great fit with what we do at Linden Lab,” said Rod Humble, CEO of Linden Lab. “It’s a very user-friendly complement to our portfolio of shared creative spaces.”

Linden Lab will invest in rolling out Blocksworld worldwide, according to the press release.

According to the press release, the “Blocksworld team will join Linden Lab” – it’s not clear whether this means only the developers working on Blocksworld, or the founding team of Boldai. We asked founder Tomas Alström of Boldai for more info via Twitter.

UPDATE: and here he is spacer It’s the entire Boldai team, apparently:
