The aselia WordPress theme, consistely with other theme elephant themes, is clean, minimalistic, but nevertheless absolutely breathtaking. A featured image slider with a customizable title and slider make the landing page a true attention-catcher.

Thanks Christina, glad you like it!

You can easily go to: “Appearance” > “Menus” and setup your own custom menu.
The problem is, everytime you create a new category, you have to add it to your custom menu manual to show up (en.support.wordpress.com/menus/).

Another way to have it more flexible:
Open up your header.php

Search for:
< ?php elephant_main_nav(); ?>

And replace it with:
< div> < ul> < ?php wp_list_categories('title_li='); ?> < ?php wp_list_pages('title_li='); ?> < /ul> < /div>

Note: you have to remove the whitespace, after every “<”

  Hi. I am using your Aselia Theme and want to know how I can make each post on my front page display completely instead of being truncated and causing the visitor to have to click on the title to read more. It’s not very intuitive for an inexperienced user to not realize they have to click to expand it.

    Hey Tim, that should be easy to fix.. open up the index.php search for:
    < ?php the_excerpt(); ?>
    
    and change it to:
    < ?php the_content(); ?>

how to make a child theme?
this method codex.wordpress.org/Child_Themes
does not work, the child theme style.css is not taken into account, why?

    I can’t get the slider to work. Added two slides under Slider Options with images and text, and ticked the “Check this to show the homepage slider”. Still, not showing on (static) homepage. Is some other action required?

Downloaded zip file, but it won’t open. I downloaded and tried it again with the same result. Would like to try the theme, but can’t extract files from the .zip file with zip-7 or windows zip. Thanks in advance for the help. It looks like a great theme.

    I’ve the same problem. I downloaded the .rar file (not ZIP) but i tried to unrar using StuffItExpander but it said that there is no files to unrar. I also tried to install it from the admin panel but it only accepts .zip format.

  Im sorry, you cant use it for your blog hosted on wordpress.com,
  you need your own ftp server and need to throw it into the “themes” folder.
