After years of fiery, impromptu jam sessions in Philadelphia, College Park and Baltimore, a new level of groove was attained... and Hunger Strike was born. Originally the musical brain-child of a mechanical engineer and a scientific illustrator, Hunger Strike grew and shrank over the years as different transient musicians made their way through the band, each leaving his or her mark on the overall fabric of the group.

Now, recent winners of a recording package from The 8 x 10 and Nice Package Productions, Hunger Strike has proven themselves to be funky, bluesy and just a tad satirical, playing original material with a unique flair that many audiences find hard to resist.

Their first EP "Seasoned & Salty" will twist your mind with imagination and tones that can be listened to over and over again. Hunger Strike currently consists of Dan [The Melt Man] Heck on bass, Ben [Robert Half-Lung Thorndale] Smith on guitar/vocals, Belvedere [Francis Underwood Zoobin Zabin aka F.U.Z.Z.] Morton on lead guitar, and Ricky [Fat Tuesday] Wise on the drums.

From the street corner to large music venues, the Frederick, Maryland-based, Knolly Moles, are energetic and infectious. Their music resonates with diverse crowds, drawing comparisons to a range of artists including: Sublime, Jimi Hendrix, the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Slightly Stoopid, and Dave Matthews.

Show goers can expect an indescribable, intangible element that is "The Knolly Moles" sound. You have to see it, hear it, feel it, to understand. Whether it’s connecting with the sometimes silly, but always genuine lyrics sliced directly from the lives they lead, or simply energizing people to get up and dance once the music begins, The Knolly Moles provide an enjoyable and emotional experience that is both raw and relate-able.

With over 150 shows under their belt, The Knolly Moles are an in demand act throughout the Mid-Atlantic area. Past performances include The Whiskey in Annapolis, Fat Tuesday’s in Virginia, Hard Rock Cafe, and the 8x10 in Baltimore, to name a few. They have proudly performed as the support act for Lukas Nelson and the Promise of the Real as well as Blind Melon and G Love. Their music is gaining recognition amongst radio with the song, “Fresh Out” having been featured on 98Rock’s Noise in the Basement. Local press is also gaining support as the song “GGD” was voted as one of top ten songs of Frederick, Maryland by Colin Mcguire of the Frederick News Post.

The band continues to record new material and expand their reach. Having completed their second demo, TKM is looking forward to playing their original music to an ever growing loyal fan base.

“The Knolly Moles are about fun. Pure unadulterated fun.” – Colin McGuire, The Frederick News Post

“The Knolly Moles are a great up and coming band that have a very bright future. Their grooves are unique, and they possess great songwriting skills.” -Doug Seligson, DPX Entertainment

We are The Up County Band! We are a country/rock band from the Baltimore area. We are an up beat, in your face, loud and proud country act ... This ain't ya Daddys country! We write all of our own original music, and perform a wide variety of covers, new and old. We love performing covers for the fans but we pride ourselves in our own originals. Thinking outside the box, while staying true to your roots is important to us, so that we are able to create a diverse collection of new unique country music. If you come to see us live, expect to see a fast paced, loud, honky tonk style show. Our fans have come to know us on stage as the bunch of redneck goofballs that we are. We'll be laughin', drinkin', and shakin' our asses up there and we expect the same from our fans ... we're up there havin' the time of our lives and we want to share it with you. So, check out our tunes, and videos, become a fan, like us on face book, and stay in touch with us so we can see ya out at the next show! Later y'all! TUCB

[...] Off With Their Heads “Home” Minneapolis punk rockers Off With Their Heads release their latest album, “Home,” also celebrating their 10 year anniversary as a band this year. Though one of the most polished, concentrated efforts by the guys thus far, the singer Ryan Young hasn’t lost his punk angst. The Minneapolis Star-Tribune says “The harrowing first single, “Nightlife,” makes it sound as if Young outright fears the prospect of playing night after night (sample lyric: “I know I’m sick and I’m not right / I’m so [expletive] tired of living this life”). Young explained by phone, though, that the song is actually more about when he’s not on the road. “It can sort of freak you out when you go from playing 300 shows a year to being at home with someone who has to get up at 6 a.m. to go to work, and leads that normal kind of life,” Young explained, referring to his Los Angeles-based girlfriend of five years.
