Celebrate National Library Week 2014 (April 13-19, 2014) with the theme
Lives change @ your library, Honorary Chair: Judy Blume
Libraries and librarians have a powerful and positive impact on the lives of Americans on a daily basis. Their stories are key to communicating the value of libraries. National Library Week is the perfect opportunity to encourage your community to tell the story of how the library has changed their life.

Ask them to tweet about how the library has changed their life using the hashtag #LivesChange and #NLW14. If their story needs more than 140 characters please encourage them to add it to the @ your library story collection.
Or ask them to snap a library selfie that tells their story. If you don't already have a speech bubble prop like the one the Queens Library has employed, we've created a PDF template which you can download and print. Thanks to Megan McFarlane, Campaign for America's Libraries Coordinator and ALA Librarian Valerie Hawkins for posing for the image at left. To make the speech bubble reusable have the print mounted to Fome-Cor and laminated at your local copy shop. A dry-erase marker can easily be wiped off the surface.
If your library uses Flickr, join our Lives change @ your library group or share on your favorite social media channel using the hashtags #LivesChange and #NLW14.
Join in the fun. Share what your library means to you during National Library Week and you could win a Kindle Fire.
Details and official rules available on the @ your library website.
