xkcd: Landing, or How to Land on but not really Harpoon a Periodic Comet
Wed 11.12.14 – xkcd nicely sums up today’s Philae landing on Comet 67P/Churyumov–Gerasimenko. Other news sources report some very happy folks at the European Space Agency’s mission control. Plus photos from the Flickr Blog.

The Floating Camellia
Sun 10.26.14 – While organizing some of my Flickr images yesterday, I found this photo that I had taken of a camellia floating in the north lawn fountain at The Huntington from last March. I double checked to see what I posted here on this blog on that same day. I was surprised, as I now prefer the above image of the camellia to the azalea that I posted.
Thus, here is the “The Floating Camellia” taken on March 23, 2014 at the Huntington Library and Gardens with a Nikon D800 and a Nikon 50mm f1.4G lens.
