Forget your serial number? |
You've just discovered a feature of OS X Mavericks called App Nap. It's designed to save power by ”slowing down“ background applications. (Like Transmit when you're working in an external editor.) As it turns out, the files do upload automatically, but they might be delayed by a few seconds.
The good news is you can disable App Nap for individual applications. Just right-click (control-click) Transmit in the Finder, choose Get Info, and check the box labeled Prevent App Nap in the Get Info window.
Sometimes automatic updates don't go as smoothly as we'd hope. For instance, you might see an error message that looks like this:
(The error message may be different, but that blue/yellow icon is the giveaway.)
If you see something like this, there's a simple fix: download and install the latest version from our website.
Don't worry, they're not lost! Grab the latest version of Transmit to clear this up.
If you're using Mavericks, make sure to update to the latest version of Transmit (4.4.4 or later).
If you're using an earlier version of Mac OS X, you'll need to stick with Transmit 4.4.3 for now.
First, quit Transmit if it's open.
Click Go in the Finder's menu bar, choose Go to Folder, and enter this path:
~/Library/Application Support/Transmit
Delete Transmit Disk (or Transmit Disk.app) from that folder.
Download the new version of the Transmit Disk installer, and run the installer (Transmit Disk.pkg). Once that’s done, launch Transmit 4.4.5 and try mounting a Favorite.
Yes! Transmit can sync your Favorites using Dropbox. (And Transmit purchased via the Mac App Store can sync using either Dropbox or iCloud.)
Each file listing has its own disconnect now! Click the button in the top-right corner of the file listing.
Choose Transmit → Preferences → Advanced, then click the Advanced Server Settings button. Then, check the Preserve modification dates option next to the server in question.
It’s pretty easy! Note, though, that your Transmit 3 scripts will not work with Transmit 4, as our dictionary has improved significantly. Download our example AppleScripts to get up and scripting!
Yes! Read our blog post, 15 Secrets of Transmit 4. You’ll learn at least one new thing!
Please give us a few business days to respond! We get lots of e-mail!
You'll find Transmit 4 in your downloads folder. It's both the demo and the full version: try it out, then enter a serial number to unlock it.
We'd love to remind you to download it when you're on your Mac! Enter your email to get a handy to-do link.
