About me

As of July 2012, I am a software engineer at Facebook.

I received my MSc in Computer Science from University of Toronto under the supervision of Mike Molloy. I did my bachelor's in Mathematics and Computer Science at Swarthmore College in Pennsylvania.

I grew up in the beautiful state of Maine, living in the coastal South and going to high school in the frozen North. Along with Maine and Pennsylvania, I also lived in Hungary before making my way to Canada.

For 2011-2012 school year, I taught at the University of Toronto Scarborough in the Department of Computer and Mathematical Sciences.

Find my CV here.

Teaching

Instructor: Teaching Assistant:

Before attending graduate school, I was a middle school English teacher in Gyöngyös, Hungary, at Arany János and Felsõvárosi Primary Schools.

Research

My main research area is graph theory, a part of the theory group. I am particularly interested in graph coloring and the probabilistic method with focus on the adaptable chromatic number as well as other coloring variants.

Papers

Activities

I enjoy card games* and (generally obscure) board games, the occasional juggling, and particularly cooking (with an emphasis on baking as evidenced by my recipe page). I am heavily involved in Hot Yam!, a volunteer-run, mostly local & organic, vegan eatery at the Centre for International Experience (worth checking out even if you're meat loving [1]).

In undergrad, I played rugby. As a kid I did gymnastics, which I have recently resumed and even more recently replaced with springboard diving.

* It has been said that I am good at finding 3 element subsets of Z34 which sum to 0.
