RKCR/Y&R

Creative Agency

Rainey Kelly Campbell Roalfe/Y&R is a full-service creative agency and is the London arm of the Y&R global network.

Propeller was appointed by RKCR/Y&R in 2009 to increase the profile of the agency in the advertising and marketing press, highlighting work that is creative, innovative and effective for serious high-profile clients and positioning the agency as a good place to work.

Propeller achieves this by creating regular noise around the agency’s creative work for clients including M&S, Virgin Atlantic, Lloyds TSB, BBC and Land Rover across national, trade and creative press, whilst also highlighting new client wins and agency appointments.

As an example, Propeller helped maximise press around the launch of RKCR’s new Virgin Atlantic campaign ‘Your airline’s either got it or it hasn’t.’

Working closely with the airline we liaised with both online and offline press to secure over 70 pieces of coverage including the FT, The Guardian, Campaign, Marketing Week and Shots.

Propeller also regularly positions RKCR’s leadership team as experts in their field by securing thought leadership pieces on current industry hot topics in the national and trade media and securing (now outgoing) CEO Richard Exon as a regular commentator on Sky News.

As well as securing news items around the great creative work by the agency Propeller also adds value by securing ‘behind the scenes’ thought pieces on the creative process and profile coverage of the creative teams involved.  When the agency launched a new campaign for BBC 5 Live, which involved a campaign being created and aired on the same day every day for five days, Propeller secured a daily blog for the RKCR team on the home page of global creative magazine Shots online to discuss the highs and lows of each day, which was also pushed out via Twitter.

Propeller also helps promote RKCR’s good work in the Camden Community. When RKCR/Y&R set up a pop-up shop in Camden to offer local businesses advice on marketing, we secured a ‘pop-up blog’ on Campaign which gave daily updates on their activity, as well as securing various news items in the marketing and local press.
