The Reckoning

This website houses an online self-paced workshop, an online version of the study guide Teaching the Reckoning, three original film modules created by Skylight Pictures, as well a variety of other resources related to issues of justice and the International Criminal Court.

STEP 1: Register or login.

In order to take this self-paced workshop, you must be logged in. The login area (and link to "create new account" if you are not already registered) is located in the box on the upper right-hand side of any page. If you already have a Facing History and Ourselves account, to login, simply enter your username (which is your e-mail address) and password. If you do not remember your password, click on the "request new password" link.

If you do not have an account, you must first fill out a simple registration form.  Click here to register. Once you have registered, you will be able to login using the box on the upper right-hand side of any page.

STEP 2: Complete all assignments.
Begin with Session 1: How to Take this Self-Paced Workshop. Each session contains one or more pages--some are informational only, while others contain journal prompts and links to post your reflections in our discussion forum.

A Note on Creating Journal Entries: At several points throughout this workshop, you will be asked to write down reflections to specific prompts in your journal. Because we do not currently offer an online journal application, we ask that you enter your journal responses in a word processing document that you maintain on your hard drive. At the end of the workshop, you will be asked to submit this journal document for review. We will accept most types of documents, including Microsoft Word, Wordpad, Notepad, Pages, TextEdit, etc.

STEP 3: Successful Completion of the Workshop.
Successful completion of this self-paced workshop is based on the following three requirements:

  1. All pages have been read, as explained above.
  2. Completion of all message board/discussion activities.
  3. Completion and e-mail submission of all journal reflections. In the final session, instructions will be provided on where to send your journal document for review.
