Welcome to the Middlebury College-CMRS Oxford Humanities Program!

Welcome to the website for the Middlebury College-Centre for Medieval and Renaissance Studies Oxford Humanities Program.

Middlebury is a top-tier American liberal arts college founded in 1800.  The original undergraduate campus is located in Middlebury, Vermont, but the college is unique among its peers in operating a global network of Study Abroad programs.

CMRS is an English charity, founded in 1975. As well as offering a high quality undergraduate study abroad semester programme, it has remained true to its founders' mission of promoting and protecting the study of the medieval and early modern periods.

The Middlebury-CMRS programme offers challenging courses within the Humanities -- Literature, History, Art History, Philosophy, Religion, Politics -- that cover a wide range of medieval, early modern and modern subjects.  The combination of a supervised research course, a readings seminar and one-to-one tutorials is not found at any other study abroad programme in the U.K.

The 14-week programme is open to qualified undergraduates from North American colleges and universities.

Here on the Middlebury-CMRS website, you can find out about our semester programme, our courses and our accommodation, as well as about the other research and alumni activities we pursue.

For application procedures and fees, please consult the Middlebury College Study Abroad website.

We hope you enjoy exploring our website and discovering more about us – if you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact us.

We look forward to hearing from you soon!
