IBM (NYSE:IBM) has contributed machine-to-machine messaging software to the Eclipse Foundation.
IBM (NYSE:IBM) announced that it has donated machine-to-machine messaging software to the Eclipse Foundation to accelerate and support the development of smarter mobile and wireless devices.
Eclipse will use Message Queuing Telemetry Transport (MQTT) protocol to bring connectivity to a wider range of devices.
IBM (NYSE:IBM) engineer Andy Piper said, “We hope that MQTT will become a core protocol in building the Internet-of-things, and it fits nicely with the work we’ve been doing with Eclipse”.
IBM (NYSE:IBM) stocks are currently standing at 187.3.
