Music Is the Music Business’s Problem
by Matthew King Kaufman on March 28, 2012
The solution to the music business’s problem is the music, and I don’t see anyone on the business side of this equation trying to solve this. The entire focus has been on the marketing of, not the product itself. When you go to a label these days you don’t hear music anymore, just marketing plans. It hasn’t always been that way. The public has responded by not participating. Music apathy is the industry’s biggest hurdle to overcome.
