A compendium of random observations from the very edge of the drain…
Quench your thirst with the Blood of Cthulhu
If you hear about something called the Blood of Cthulhu, the first thing you think of is probably not a beer review. But that’s exactly what you will find here. Written, obviously, as a short story in the style of the master himself.

Pre-order trailer for Alone in the Dark: Illumination
According to Michael Allar at Pure FPS:
Allar cited series like Alan Wake, Resident Evil and Left 4 Dead as inspirations for Illumination, saying that Pure FPS wanted to deliver a more action-heavy experience that retained the Lovecraftian creature and art design that Alone in the Dark is known for. Left 4 Dead, in particular, is an easy point of comparison: Illumination offers four playable characters and pits them against terrifying creatures. It’s worth noting, though, that there isn’t anything like the AI Director to govern Illumination‘s enemy behavior.
Check out the trailer here, pre-purchase on Steam here. Or not. It’s entirely up to you. The trailer didn’t look very Lovecraftian to me, but what do I know.
Shit! There’s a maniac with a gun up ahead…

The Littlest Cthulhuist has reached its funding goal on Indiegogo
Lillian is your average seven year old who happens to be a Cthulhu’s Witness. Unfortunately for her, the kids at school are teasing her and bullying her because she believe in Cthulhu. Somehow Lillian must face this situation and find a way to prevail.
Still 20 days left of the campaign.
Pitch video here and here. And why is Lillian quoting The Day the Earth Stood Still…? I know cthulhu fhtagn is difficult to pronounce, but still.

Monster Cthulhu Kingdom is not quite what it sounds like
One day, Great Cthulhu will finally awake because of things like this, and he’ll be pissed.
On the other hand, this might be an effective way of pushing more budding cultists over the edge. I mean, too much of this sort of thing (and that includes plushies and chibi and baby Cthulhus and all the rest of it) will drive anyone mad.
So it’s all good in the end, really.

Cthulhu hug t-shirt
Kickstarter:
This is actually a project about shirts inspired by Celtic myth, but everything’s gotta have Cthulhu in it nowadays (the cult is everywhere). There are 27 hours left to support this, at the time of writing.

Whispers from the Abyss Volume 2: Open call for submissions
All the details here:
We’re looking for short stories between 2500-4500 words that can be read in one sitting. Flash fiction is also welcome. We want authors hungry to play in the twisted universe envisioned by H.P. Lovecraft, or write tales that are in the spirit of his mythos. Like Lovecraft’s own work, the horror in this anthology aims to be subtle and subjective. The mind and its inner working are a far more terrifying place than the actual corridors of R’lyeh or the Mountains of Madness.
