The hotel is the DoubleTree in Madison at 525 W. Johnson St. The room rate is $159 per night. You must make your reservation no later than May 10th to get this rate.

There are 100 rooms available for YAPC::NA 2012 wishing to stay at the conference facilities. These rooms have all the comfort of a high-end hotel, for only $89 per night for a standard room or $105 for a deluxe room.

You must register for these rooms no later than May 1, 2012. My guess is that they will sell out much faster than that.

NOTE: Dorm room accommodations will be made available soon for about half this price. 

There are lots of hotels and a hostel within a few blocks (see the map below). They all have free shuttle services that will take you anywhere you want to go in the city, including the airport and the University conference facilities. We will reserve a block a rooms at a couple of them and the costs will average about $120 per night. The hostel is about $20 per night.

We will have dorms available for those of you looking for an inexpensive housing option. The rooms are air conditioned, and that price comes with a full breakfast. There is also a small computer lab in each dorm, wired connections in each room, and some of the dorms have WiFi. We will request a dorm with WiFi.

For a single room the price is $62.95. For a double room the price is $42.10 per person. Both include breakfast each morning, plus this impressive list of amenities. Note that this does not include parking, if that’s something you need.

The University has opened the reservation process for dorms for YAPC::NA 2012. You can simply visit the reservation web site to make your reservation. You can stay from Monday, June 11th though Saturday, June 16th (leaving Sunday) or anywhere in-between. A single occupancy room is $62.95 per night, and a double occupancy room is $42.10 per person per night. You must register before Monday, May 14th, as reservations will be closed on that date.

The University conference center has 100 guest rooms available for $95 per night (tax free). These are not dorm rooms (see photo below). The rooms are outfitted as good as most 4 star hotels with queen-sized beds, mahogany furniture, satin sheets, private bathrooms, high definition televisions, iPhone dockable alarm clocks, and free WiFi. There are also deluxe suites available with king sized beds and desks or two queen sized beds.

I’m not sure if you’ve ever stayed in a hostel before, but the hostel in Madison is pretty amazing. If you’re looking for the cheapest possible accommodations for YAPC::NA, then look no further. They can take up to 33 guests at a time, and charge only $22 per night. The hostel is about 10 blocks from the YAPC conference facilities.
