On February 15, 2014, Microsoft released a mandatory system update for the Xbox One that also addresses an issue impacting multiplayer gaming over Wi-Fi.  Specifically the Xbox One issue affected Arris XB2 (TG852/TG862) integrated wireless gateways being used in areas that support IPv6 enabled broadband.   Xbox One consoles not using WiFi, or other Comcast Gateways or service areas were not affected.  For more information about the patch please visit Xbox One operating system versions.  Comcast and Microsoft have collaborated closely since this issue was discovered and are happy to report that this issue has been resolved.

Comcast and Microsoft are aware of a software issue affecting the ability of Xbox One users to play some games online. This issue is only observed when the Xbox One is connected to a network via WiFi and when that network also has an IPv6 address. In those conditions online gameplay for some titles may not work.

To immediately solve this issue, we recommend that customers connect their Xbox One using an Ethernet cable instead of WiFi. Comcast and Microsoft are working together to further diagnose the issue and we anticipate that Microsoft will release a software update after the holidays that will resolve this issue.

Comcast's IPv6 deployment continues to expand, over 25% of our customers are actively provisioned with native dual stack broadband!  The following areas of the Comcast broadband footprint are now fully IPv6 enabled - Colorado, New Mexico, Minnesota, Kansas, Missouri, Maryland, Ohio, Pennsylvania, West Virginia, and Houston.

On November 18, 2013 the Internet Society updated their World IPv6 Launch measurements reporting that Comcast's IPv6 deployment is now the largest deployment worldwide.  The following graph shows the growth of Comcast's IPv6 deployment since World IPv6 Launch in June 2012:

Residential native dual stack has been launched to Comcast customers across Washington state!  Customer's can verify whether there current device supports IPv6 by visiting www.comcast6.net.  For an up to date list of devices that support IPv6 check mydeviceinfo.comcast.net.

We would like to thank all the Comcast's Business Internet customers who expressed interest in our native IPv6 trials.  We have officially closed the portal and are no longer accepting new trial requests.  Please note that existing requests will be reviewed and acted upon as our Business Internet native IPv6 trials continue to expand.  Trial expansion will continue leading up to the launch of native IPv6 support for Comcast Business Internet.
