All the concert goers are in for highland magic as Scottish cellist Natalie Haas and fiddler Alasdair Fraser come to Ashland to play selections from their newest CD named Abundance, which is a collection of their own compositions that have a strong foundation in Scottish folk music.

The well known music artist is known for their high-spirited folk dance music and making a range of Celtic music heightened with different global styles. Ashland based music teacher and fiddle player Duane Whitcomb told that Alasdair Fraser is a master of his art.

He added that he has heard him a number of times, and he is one of the best fiddlers alive. He tours all across the world and works hard to pass on his Scottish fiddling techniques. Whitcomb’s advanced diddle students, Creekside Strings, would open for Fraser and Hass at 8 pm, Saturday, 25th October, at the Havurah Shir Hadash, 185 N. Mountain Ave. Ashland. Advance tickets would cost US$ 25 and could be bought at Music Coop, 268 E. Main St. or at stclairevents.com. The tickets would cost US$ 28 at the door, US$ 10 for ages twelve to seventeen. Kids eleven year old and younger get in free.

Whitcomb further added that they are looking forward to this gig. He is really very happy that his students have a scope to open for a listen these two lovely music artist. Fraser is quite well known for guiding and supporting young music artists.

This comes just 3 weeks after nude snaps of US actress Jennifer Lawrence as well as ‘100 other stars’, including actress Aubrey Plaza and supermodel Kate Upton, were posted online.

The half nude snap comes only days after the We Can’t Stop star was the death hoax victim. A fabricated tale went viral this last weekend, claiming that Miley was actually “found dead in her Los Angeles home.”

The false news used a screen grab from visuals Miley made with Flaming Lips that insinuated that drugs were tangled in her death. With a slew of bold Instagram snaps, she proved that she is not just still alive, in fact, she is still very much the same old Miley Cyrus.

Music legend Sir Paul McCartney had initially called off one concert in Tokyo, Japan, but organizers told that he is still not feeling better. The singer has been forced to call off his Japan tour after he was hit with an unspecified virus, stated the organizers.

This comes days after the seventy one year old former Beatle member declared that he had to call off Saturday’s 2014 Out There Japan Tour – and later Sunday concert. A statement issued from the organizer Kyodo Tokyo told that Sir Paul would regrettably have to cancel the remaining Japanese shows. Paul is still not feeling better and this cancellation is unavoidable.

The former Beatle singer was all set to perform the rescheduled Saturday gig on Monday evening and also 2 more dates as part of the Japan tour. Sir Paul McCartney apologized to all his rooters for calling off the 1st concert. In a statement on the official Facebook page of the tour, it was said that doctors asked him not to play.

Earlier McCartney wrote: “Thank you for such a beautiful and warm welcome to your country. I’ve unfortunately had to postpone tonight’s show in Tokyo. I came down with a virus on Friday and following a visit from doctors, I’ve been told not to perform tonight.”

He also added that he is very sorry to all his rooters as he was greatly looking forward to this gig. But, the situation is out of his hands. Along with the doctors, he is doing everything he can to make sure that he would be better for tomorrow night’s show and the rest of his time in Japan. They were planning to replay this show on Monday. He really expect you could make it.

Cellist Natalie Haas and fiddler Alasdair Fraser blend conventional styles of the Scottish folk music along with some modern touches. Tonight, the pair is coming to Carrboro ArtsCenter to share their music. Natalie Hass told that this is a traditional Scottish music with modern twists.

Scotland native Alasdair Fraser came to know Haas when she was a student at the Valley of the Moon Scottish Fiddle School. Later, they decided that they would tour together. ArtsCenter’s executive director Art Menius stated that he is mainly proud to bring this gig to this community because of Haas and Fraser’s dedication to education and creativity.
Art Menius told that he has been following Fraser since 80s, even before he went to the United States, and mainly when he created fiddle school. Haas is taking Alasdair’s music to a whole new place which excites him every time he listens to it.

Fraser told that his main job in performing is on the link music can add to a community. He added that music is a very important force in this world. They gather around music as human beings, and as a community. Therefore, he feels privileged where he is spending a life doing that. Another important force in the event is what Hass brings in the performance with her cello playing. Most spectators think that they have seen the cello, then they seen Natalie Haas play. Haas was just eleven years old when he attended Alasdair’s school. This is the place where her views on music altered.
