Glastonbury music fest: Organizers restricts aboriginal headdresses sale at festival

Another well known music fest has taken a real stand against clueless hipsters sporting aboriginal headdresses and that is also as a fashion statement. The Glastonbury Festival arrangers have added Indian Headdresses to the list of things vendors could not sell during the event without any prior authorization, along with other items such as candle flares, alcohol and cigarettes.
The restriction would affect vendors beginning with 2015 fest that would take place next June. The fest takes place in Somerset in England, and it now draws in upwards of 175000 people for the 5 day fest. The line up next year has yet to be declared, but the fest attracts top acts and last year’s top acts included Kasabian, Arcade Fire and Metallica.
According to reports, the officials at Glastonbury have not unveiled an official statement on this matter, but they confirmed that the change with Daniel Round, who began a petition 2 months ago to stop sales of headdresses. He told that even though it is only one United Kingdom fest, he expect that if they spread the news of Glastonbury’s decision on-line, positive discussions regarding the stereotyping of Native Americans as well as the headdress would grow in United Kingdom and elsewhere.
In a Facebook post, the fest said: “For various reasons, Bass Coast Festival is banning feathered war bonnets, or anything resembling them, onsite. Our security team will be enforcing this policy.”
It added that they understand why people are attracted to war bonnets. They have a magnificent aesthetic. But their spiritual, cultural and aesthetic significance could not be separated.

Destiny: some secrets of the most expensive video game

Accounted as a noteworthy creative travel, the £310m epic tolls much more compared to the new Star Wars trilogy and it has already been compared to film like The Lord of the Rings. Almost 10 years in making, this has cost more than two times as much as the 3 new brand star Star Wars films… and no less than former Beatles star Sir Paul McCartney has composed the music.
But Destiny is not the next hit film franchise. It is also not the next triumphant television program to cross the Atlantic. This is a PC game – an alien shoot ‘em up set located in a magnificent sci-fi fantasy world seven hundred years, unveiled on Tuesday. The hype encircling it underlines how games have slipped a march on Hollywood as well as the clambering music scene.
The industry, previous year, turned over more than forty billion pound across the world and it is all set to reach to fifty billion pound a year by the year 2017. The day when computers were locked to few nerds are long gone. In the United Kingdom alone, now games make over 4 billion pound each year – and it is more than music and films combined.
Destiny is taking its domination to another level. In production conditions, its £ 310 million cost as well as epic scale has been equated to The Lord of the Rings. Compared to this, the highly expected Star Wars trilogy is costing two hundred million pounds.
