Digital Detox with Bicycle Coffee

February 20, 2014 by cameron mckee

In June this year, Digital Detox will be hosting three sessions of their second annual Camp Grounded and Bicycle Coffee will be there again.

Buried deep in the Mendocino forest, far from cell towers and civilization, the digital detox crew laboriously recreates this old logging camp turned boy scout summer retreat into an 80 acre getaway for adults to unplug and be kids again.

The owners of Bicycle Coffee are each volunteering for a session for the good of the camp and to detox themselves. We’ll also be hosting a coffee roasting workshop using camp stoves and stove top popcorn poppers.

Join us. Tickets are available here. Looking forward to another great year.

COLD BREW GROWLERS

December 21, 2013 by cameron mckee

We are now offering refillable cold-brew growlers. Each growler contains 32 ounces of our great tasting cold brew coffee. Keep the growler chilled and serve over ice. When the growler is empty, come back and get it refilled.

Growlers can be purchased/refilled weekdays at our roastery (364 2nd St, Oakland), and every Saturday at the Grand Lake Farmers Market.

Tee Shirts

June 18, 2013 by cameron mckee

Did you know we screen print all our t shirts in-house?

You can pick-up a shirt Saturdays at the Grand Lake Farmers Market or you can buy one on-line. The shirts are a 50/50 blend from American Apparel.

Here’s a photo of Rosanna screen printing a t-shirt. The newest member of Bicycle Coffee is also learning the craft.

Farm Girl Flowers

March 19, 2013 by cameron mckee

Green, unroasted coffee beans come in large jute sacks. After a day of roasting, we’re left with a pile of empty coffee sacks. What do we do with those leftover sacks you ask? We trade them for flowers of course.

Farm Girls Flowers is a Bay Area flower company that delivers its flowers by bicycle. They use the coffee sacks to wrap their flower arrangements.

Sock it to me

January 19, 2013 by cameron mckee

T-shirts, socks, and underwear are everyday staples. Last year we settled on a good t-shirt. Now we’ve found a good sock. Haven’t pinned down the right underwear yet.

Our socks are 70% Merino wool, 25% Nylon, and 5% Lycra. Not too high, not too low. Not too thick, not too thin. Made in the USA.

These are the type of socks that you look forward to putting  on in the morning. Plus, you can wear them multiple days in a row and they won’t get too gnarly.

Order them on our web shop or pick-up a pair at the Grand Lake Farmers Market.
