During the European Council in March, the EU heads of states will conclude the first phase of the 2013 European Semester including the coordination of the economic, fiscal and employment policies of the member states.
Alongside the European Summit on 14 and 15 March 2013, the European Journalism Centre in co-operation with the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Economic and Financial Affairs, is tailoring a media seminar for a specialised group of 18 journalists from the EU27 covering economic and financial issues.
The event will discuss where the EU economy and currency is and what future predictions are being made about it. It will feature panel discussions as well as on and off the record talks with senior members of the EU institutions as well as experts from the NGO, think tank and academic communities in Brussels.
Participating journalists will have the exclusive opportunity to attend the final Press Conference of the European Council on Friday, 15 March.

The seminar will be held from 14-15 March 2013 in Brussels. Please note that participants are expected to arrive on 13 March. Departure time is planned for 16 March.

The organisers will cover travel, accommodation and some meals.
