David Chun

CEO and Founder

David has led Equilar since its inception to become one of the most respected and trusted names in the executive compensation industry and has been recognized as one of the "100 Most Influential Players in Corporate Governance" by the National Association of Corporate Directors (NACD). David often speaks publicly on issues facing the executive compensation industry, including events hosted by The Conference Board, Directorship, The HR Policy Association, NACD, NASDAQ OMX, National Association of Stock Plan Professionals (NASPP), NYSE Euronext, RiskMetrics, Stanford's Directors' College, and WorldatWork.

Prior to founding Equilar, David was a Vice President in the Investment Banking Division of Donaldson, Lufkin and Jenrette, a global investment bank that has since merged with Credit Suisse. Prior to DLJ, David was a management consultant with Bain & Company and also Kenan Systems, a telecom billing software developer that was subsequently acquired by Lucent Technologies.

David is a member of the Young Presidents' Organization (YPO), a Charter Member of the Asian-American Multi-Technology Association (AAMA), a director of the Asian Pacific Fund Community Foundation, and a co-founder of the Korean American Society of Entrepreneurs (KASE). David earned his M.B.A. from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania and a Bachelors of Science with Honors in Systems Engineering from the University of Virginia.

John Sturino

EVP, Product & Partnerships

John is the EVP of Product and Partnerships. In this role, he is responsible for the suite of products aimed at creating a better online experience for senior executives and board members and those that support them.

John has had a long career in bringing solutions to market with some of the biggest names online. Prior to joining Equilar, John was Vice President of Product at Braintree Payments, where he worked with such innovative companies as Uber, Fab, Airbnb and HotelTonight. Before Braintree, John was a Vice President at Yahoo! where he worked on Display and Search advertising and was a key member of the Yahoo!/Microsoft Search Alliance integration team. Before Yahoo!, John worked with AOL in Europe and in China.

John has his M.B.A. from University of Chicago's Booth School and a B.A. in International Relations from The American University.

Jiunn Lim

Vice President, Engineering

Jiunn Lim leads the teams responsible for Equilar's software development, QA, and IT efforts. Prior to joining Equilar, he served as Vice President of Development at HST, where he oversaw the development of the company's healthcare information system. He has also worked at SourceMedical, InterTrade, Harris, and Condor Systems. Jiunn has over 20 years of experience building highly effective, secure software and large-scale transactional management systems. His work has spanned many industries, including healthcare, telecommunications, and Internet information providers.

Jiunn holds B.S. in Electrical Engineering and B.A. in Mathematics from the University of Washington.

Ed Kam

Vice President, Finance and Administration

Ed Kam leads the team that is responsible for Accounting and Finance, Facilities, Human Resources and Legal. Prior to joining Equilar, Ed spent 10 years at several Silicon Valley start-ups as a Corporate Controller, primarily with IPLocks where he was a key driver in the sale of IPLocks to Fortinet. Prior to his involvement with technology start-ups, Ed spent several years in the financial services and energy industries and has held various managerial and analytical positions at the Bank of Hawaii, GE Capital and Pacific Resources (BHP Petroleum).

Ed holds Bachelor degrees in Finance and Computer Science and an M.B.A. from the University of Hawaii.

Linda Chen

Vice President, Marketing

Linda Chen will lead Equilar’s branding and marketing efforts. Prior to joining Equilar, she was Vice President of Marketing at Credit.com and General Manager/Vice President at Deem, Inc. She was responsible for the B2B business line of corporate travel, spend, and expense management applications. She also served more than 10 years at Intuit, where she managed marketing and customer support for the company's Small Business mobile and SaaS solutions. She also led product marketing teams for QuickBooks and Quicken software and support. Earlier in her career, Chen drove global marketing for Crest toothbrushes at Procter & Gamble. Chen has a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Michigan and a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from the University of California, Berkeley.

Jesse MacNish

Vice President, Technology

Jesse MacNish leads the technology and architecture efforts for Equilar's new initiatives. Prior to joining Equilar, he was Director of Engineering at Bill.com, where he was responsible for building and leading the engineering team. Before Bill.com, MacNish worked in the online gaming industry for companies such as Yahoo, where he led teams that facilitated the rapid development of Internet games and game services. His experience extends back to consultant roles for IBM, Intel, and Delta Airlines. MacNish holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from the University of Arizona.
Katherine August-deWilde

Director

Katherine August-deWilde, who joined First Republic Bank at its inception in 1985, has served as its President and Chief Operating Officer since 2007. First Republic is a commercial bank specializing in relationship-based banking, lending, trust, and investment advisory services. In 2007, the bank was sold at 3.7X book value, returning to shareholders a 23 percent IRR over more than two decades. In 2010, August-deWilde, with the CEO, co-led the management buyback from Bank of America at approximately 1X book value and took the company public within six months. Before joining the bank, she was Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer at PMI Group.

Katherine is a member of the Board of Directors of TriNet, a cloud-based provider of human resources services. She is also a trustee of the Boys & Girls Club of San Francisco, a member of the Advisory Council of the Stanford Center on Longevity, and a member of the Stanford University Graduate School of Business Advisory Council. She earned an MBA in 1975 from Stanford University and a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1969 from Goucher College.

Peter Browning

Lead Independent Director

Peter Browning is the Founder and Managing Director of Peter Browning Partners, LLC, an esteemed board advisory consulting firm. Since 1989, Peter has served on the boards of directors of eleven publicly traded companies, two as CEO. He has served as Chairman, President, and CEO of the National Gypsum Company, and as President and CEO of Sonoco Products Company. Peter presently serves as Lead Director of Nucor Corporation and Acuity Brands, and is also a member of the boards of directors of EnPro Industries and Lowe's Companies. He is a founding member of the Lead Director Network, a member of the faculty for The Conference Board’s Directors’ Institute, the former Dean of the McColl School of Business at Queens University of Charlotte, and a lifetime member of The University of Chicago’s Council on the Booth Graduate School of Business.

In 2004, Board Alert Magazine selected Peter as one of eight “Outstanding Directors of the Year” for his role in the successful CEO transitions at Lowe's and Nucor. He is also the 2009 recipient of Boston University's "Gislason Award for Leadership in Executive Development," and he was selected for the "NACD Director 100 List" in 2011 and 2012.

Jim Casella

Jim Casella is Chairman, CEO and Founder of Case Interactive Media (CIM), affiliated with Austin Ventures where he serves as CEO-in-Residence for their Growth/Private Equity practice. He is Chairman and CEO of Asset International, a leading B2B information and technology company in the financial information sector. Jim has extensive leadership experience in the information services industry, including: serving as Vice Chairman of Reed Business (Reed Elsevier's business-to-business division), CEO of U.S. operations for Reed Business Information, Chief Operating Officer at IDG, President and CEO of PennNet (now PennEnergy), President of ABC Consumer Magazines (a division of Capital Cities/ABC), and Vice President of Sales and Marketing for HBJ Media Systems at Harcourt Brace Jovanovich.

Jim has also served on the boards of directors of two formerly-listed NASDAQ companies (IDG Books and Ask Jeeves) as well as on the board of Infomedia India LTD. He previously served on the board of Jigsaw Data Corporation, which was sold to Salesforce.com in 2010. Jim currently sits on the board of Compare Networks.
