It was five oclock in the morning, but Robin couldnt sleep. It was hard sleeping at his grandmothers with the sharp smells permeating her house--spices like coriander and mace blending with the musty-sweet smell of dust and pollen--and the uncomfortable, lumpy, straw bed she had given him. He knew from TV shows that other grandmothers homes were scented with cinnamon and vanilla, and they gave their grandchildren proper beds with a mattress and box spring. Why couldnt his grandma have been one of those?...

I really enjoyed this story. It was a little off beat, and light-hearted with a bit if mystery.

It seems that Eugie always brings in a winner. This story was great and very lighthearted with a definite fantasy feel. I always look forward to reading her stuff. |

I'm glad that both of you liked Eugie's story. Back in February 2006, Lonny, Ernie, and I had the opportunity to meet her at the Aberrant Dreams magazine signing at Oxford Comics in Atlanta, GA. During the event, she handed me a copy of her audio story, "The Life and Times of Penguin." You can read my review of the story at the following link:

In my opinion, there is no doubt that she is a very talented author who can pretty much construct an engaging story about anything, if she so chose.
