Buffalo-based jam rockers moe. continue their winter tradition of merging music and sports with the fifth annual snoe.down at Killington Resort in Killington, Vermont. A spin-off of their annual summer moe.down festival, the boys and some special musical guests will take over the resort for 4 days of music and activities across 6 Killington venues, as well as in Rutland's Spartan Arena for two evening jam sessions.
Killington has long been one of the Northeast's top ski resorts, and is the region's largest, but don't think that all there is to do is ski and snowboard. On the contrary, Killington features a variety of other outdoor activities such as tubing and sleigh rides, and indoor activities such as spa treatments and shopping -- not to mention the four days of music.

What area is the festival in? How do I get around?
The festival takes place on the grounds of the Killington Resort, in Killington, Vermont, and also at the Spartan Arena in nearby Rutland, Vermont. Driving is certainly the most independent option, however public transit is also available, as is taxi service.
Once in Killington, the most convenient way to get around is to take "The Bus," which offers economical and convenient transportation daily. From Killington Resort's Snowshed Lodge you can take this bus to mountain bases, shops, restaurants, and bars/clubs on Killington Road from 7:15am to 1:17am everyday. If you are staying at Snowshed Lodge, K-1 Lodge, Pico, or the Killington Managed Properties on East Mountain Road you are in the “Free Zone.” Outside this zone (for example, to downtown Rutland) each ride is $2.00 and exact change is required so stock up on those quarters.
To travel between the different Killington Resort Lodges, take the Base Area Transport, or BAT, a free passenger shuttle for all resort guests. These white passenger vans run on a 30 minute loop around the lodges between opening (8am or 9am daily) and 5pm.
To get to moe.'s two headlining sets at the Spartan Arena by your own car, plug this address into your GPS: 100 Diamond Run Place in Rutland, Vermont, 05701.
By public transportation, you can take "The Bus," but bear in mind that you will have to change buses in downtown Rutland at the Marble Valley Regional Transit Center and the bus schedule may not align with the concerts' end times. Check with your lodge up at Killington or call the Marble Valley Regional Transit District at 1-802-773-3244, extension 117 for more information.
Check also with your lodge at Killington to see if they will be arranging festival shuttle services or a taxi to and from the concerts.Back to Top -
What time does it start and end?
The festival begins on the night of Thursday, March 21 at the Wobbly Barn. moe. plays on Friday and Saturday nights at 7:00pm at Spartan Arena in Rutland. Several afternoon performances will take place throughout the weekend at select lodges at Killington Resort. moe. will also play a set Saturday afternoon at the base of Killington Resort's Bear Mountain. The festival ends on Sunday, March 24.

For the Saturday show at Bear Mountain, Killington asks that there be no coolers, alcohol, animals, chairs or tents allowed inside the concert or on-snow area. Also, no animals. Attendees under 21 may be restricted to designated areas at both Spartan Arena, the Wobbly Barn, and other Killington lodges.
What's the deal with food and beverages?
Killington Resort has a variety of dining and drinking options on site, from fine to casual fare. Be sure to check out our EAT section for more suggestions in the area.
What do I need to know about money?
Many of the resorts at Killington will have an ATM on-site, and will accept credit or debit cards, but you may want to check with your specific lodge just in case. Taxis may not accept cards so be sure to have some cash on hand, and if taking “The Bus” into Rutland, you will need exact change.

What will the weather be like?
Killington is 8,380 feet above sea level, and it will be cold -- be prepared for snow. Daily temperatures will range from the low 40s (4-7°C) during the day, to 15°F (-9°C) at night.
What should I wear?
The festival is held outdoors and in tents; it will be cold, and perhaps even snowy. Wear a thick waterproof jacket to fend off the cold. However, you will be dancing in crowded areas, so dress in layers to adjust. Wear comfortable, slip-proof shoes (preferably boots) to prepare yourself for a full day of walking and dancing. Hats and gloves are a must. Check out our survival guide for cold-weather festivals for more tips and tricks for surviving the cold.
Cold weather gear is a must on the slopes, but casual indoor attire will suffice for the concerts at Spartan and the Wobbly Barn.Back to Top -
What should I bring?
Bring a small to medium backpack to store your winter accessories, extra layers, and anything else you don't want to be holding while dancing. Sunscreen and lip balm are essential to help protect your skin from the elements. You should also bring hand and toe warmers - they're cheap, portable, and easy to use.
If you want to hit the slopes as well as the dance floor, bring your ski or snowboard gear! If you are worried about lugging your gear along though, particularly if you aren't driving, fear not. Killington Resort offers rental equipment for reasonable prices. Packages include skis, boots, and poles, or snowboard and boots.Back to Top -
Does the festival have a mobile app?
The festival does not have a mobile app, but you can connect via Facebook, Twitter, MySpace, YouTube, or subscribe to their RSS feed.

Despite the fact that the owners might have an animal obsession that rivals the Crazy Cat Lady, this place looks like a good option. The Summit Lodge is conveniently located near many options for dining and shopping and is less than a ten minute shuttle ride away from the other lodges and amenities.
