World of Webrings Resource Webring Welcome to James S. Huggins' Refrigerator Door Welcome to my website. This is a webring welcome page. I created this welcome page when I joined this webring to provide a special guide to my site for webring hoppers. See the bottom of this page for an overview of how webring welcome pages work. I hope that you enjoy your visit here. Feel free to sign my guestbook if you'd like to leave me a message or email me if you would prefer.
Comments for the Webrings are (were) a large part of my net activity. I belong (belonged) to more webrings than anyone else on the planet. Before Yahoo! spun off the Yahoo! WebRing system, creating the WebRing.com system, I belonged to more than 1,200 Yahoo! WebRings. Now (whenever that was), I belong to more than 2,500. (This was written a few years back. The number has declined SUBSTANTIALLY since then. So treat some of this as history not as current. In addition to the WebRing.com system I belong to and host webrings in the Ringlink, RingSurf and Bravenet systems as well. And, I have extensive resources on my site to assist webring ringmasters and members both. After you check out these particular topics, you might like to explore the rest of my site (and get to know me better). I recommend that you start with my "Home" Page. From there the "Front Door" will provide some highlights of the site, information on my navigation scheme and a bevy of graphics for the organizations I belong to and support. Then "Stuff About Me" will provide more info about me than you could possibly want. (I've included all these links in the link list below.) From there, I'd suggest just exploring the various parts of the site as suits your interests.
Pages for the Webrings: General Information: This subsection includes general information about webrings. Webrings can be hosted by a variety of different services. This section deals with the overall concepts and issues, not with any one particular "brand" of webring. It includes my Webring FAQ, links to articles about webrings, and general help information. WebRing.com System: This subsection includes specific information about the WebRing.com system. While not the only webring system on the net, it is the best known and the most used. I own many webrings in this system and belong to many webrings in this system. (I also own and belong to many webrings in other systems as well.) Wazillion Navbars Project: This subsection is a historical section about the Yahoo! WebRing system. It was begun during the early days of problems with the Yahoo! WebRing system in September 2000. It ended when the Yahoo! WebRing system spun off into the independent WebRing.com system in October 2001. I maintain it for the historical record. Home Page: Interested in the rest of my site? I suggest you start here. Front Door: This page highlights new pages of my site as well as some pages I wish to "feature". Stuff About Me: This section is the blatant, self-promotion section. It contains my biography and resume as well as information on my future speaking schedule and previous speaking engagements. It also contains complete contact information for me. All About Snippets, My Free Ezine: This page tells about my free ezine (newsletter), where it came from, how to subscribe . . . the whole banana. Site Map: Tips on navigating the site, explanations of the red arrows in front of the links, a discussion of the overall site structure, brief principles on the use of animation and some great humorous gifs. Webring FAQ: What is a webring? Is it webring (one word) or web ring (two words)? Is it webring (no caps), Webring (initial cap) or WebRing (double caps)? How many webring systems are there? How do webrings work? Why would someone want to join a webring? How does someone join a webring? How does someone create a webring? World of Webrings Resource Webring
