Permanently limited for no reason and no appeal allowed
Paypal has permanently limited my account for no reason. I called 3 times and customer service has no idea why or they aren’t telling me why. I been with them for years which does not seem to matter to them at all. They said there is nothing I can do because this cant be appealed, they also froze the account of the person who sent me money, but they told this person they might unfreeze their account in 45 days. They have no specific reason to why they froze both our accounts, this was money sent as a gift, not as a business..what do I need to do? I have money that they wont give back until 180 days. I would greatly appreciate your help and thank you for this great website and your hard work and dedication in helping others!

no reason needed to limit your account, when you use paypal you agree to their rules and their rules states that they can close your account for any/no specific reason. it sucks and they put no value on long time honest users with excellent ratings. No instead they’ll believe a brand new user with no feedback. biggest legal scam there is in today’s market.
I got the same thing on March 8th for no reason, I’ve been using my paypal forever for purchases and all of the sudden i get this?
Welcome to our Club. Our business account has been limited after one year EVEN we only sent payments to our suppliers/staff etc. They said that it’s a High Risk?! Our money = high risk? We didn’t receive any cent in our paypal account so what high risk?
The money were coming from our company funds. We didn’t ever make any chargeback. We are a money trasmitter company(financial licensed company) too. They pre approved our account and our business plan(we had to provide it) , they reviewed the website , documents …everthing. It was OK and we opened the account with Paypal.
After one year of spending a lot of money through their system and paying a lot of fees they said “High risk” We were charged aprox 7% for each transaction with their currency exchange “fee” even it’s saying “FREE”
We called them and the “half robot, half human” from “Limitation Dept” said there is no appeal. He didn’t provide any explanation of why they limited our account. He agreed that there is no problem with the account but ” Your account is limited for ever because it may be a high risk for paypal in the future”….Yes…he said in the future .
What else can be said? Stay away of paypal and use other payment processor.
Stay away of Paypal is obvious! But the question still remains how do we get even against them for these unexplained limits agaist our ability to do business with ebay .As it sits they have overpowered as a monoply and are demonstrating discrimination and destroying hundreds of thousands of legitimate customers for unfair and unrealistic reasons.I would have prefered that they just do there thing and return my acccount to a respectful state, but instead they give me no solution or answers and after 3 years of award winning business with no logical explanation. They ruined my ability to do business for no reason. They need a serious ass kicking or a rope AROUND THEIR NECK!. WTF.
Same crap just happened to me.
Said it was because of money sent to me or money I withdrew. Either they don’t know why or they aren’t telling me why.
Just today I found pout the account has been closed for security reasons even though I’ve been the only one to ever use the account.
Will call them if they do not reinstate the account or let me remove my debit card and bank info.
I’ll tell them they can either reinstate the account, tell me exactly why it was limited or I can call my lawyer and Paypal can tell me why my account was limited along with paying my legal fees.
