About
Special Collections/Archives houses rare, valuable and special format materials as well as archival records and photographs about San Francisco State University.
Information about most books and some of the other materials in Special Collections/Archives is available in the InvestiGator Catalog. Items from this department may be used in the reading room but may not be borrowed. Photocopy and reproduction of materials is at the discretion of the staff.
In addition to university history, among the distinctive collections in this department are the San Francisco State College Strike Materials Collection; the San Francisco Bay Area Television Archives; the Marguerite Archer Collection of Historic Children's Materials; books on San Francisco history; radio, television and movie scripts; and original posters from the Fillmore Auditorium.
Services Provided
Special Collections & Archives is open to students, faculty, and the general public. Class meetings as well as group or individual tours can be arranged by appointment.
