Blends

Welcome to Bender’s Blenders! The credit for the title goes entirely to the ultra-creative Papa Bender. This page features smoothie, shake and general Vitamix creations that I either create myself or concoct via an interesting recipe.

Let me know if you try a recipe or if you have any feedback, comments, etc. on what you would like to see featured. As Papa Bender so eloquently put it, I want to make sure you get a “fair shake”(pun shamelessly intended) on what goes on here. spacer

Hey Shake Queen,

I want to make a protein shake, but have no blender. What else can I use to crush the ice/blend the mix?

Heather ~ Haha, Shake Queen – you’re too kind spacer I was researching your question online and the only conclusion I could come to was to either have a blender or Magic Bullet machine (click the red link to see what that is). I’m pretty sure you can get blenders on the cheap by doing a search at Amazon.com – but otherwise it’s just too difficult to crush the ice any other way spacer I hope that helps!

Jenn,
At your Uncle David’s wedding I mentioned eating a smoothie every morning for breakfast based on the “Abs Diet” that I have been following for about 8 months. The two smoothies I like the best are a tropical fruit flavor and my special treat – the peanut butter cup.

The tropical fruit is really simple and very healthy:
5-6 crushed ice cubes
1 peeled bannana
1 peeled orange
6-8 oz. of low fat / low cal. vanilla yogurt
1/2 cup of 1% milk
2-3 oz. of Torani sugar free coconut syrup
1 scoop of GNC Wheybolic Extreme – vanilla

The peanut butter cup is:
5-6 crushed ice cubes
1 peeled bannana
1 Tbs. of Smart Balance Omega Natural Peanut Butter
1/2 cup of 1% milk
1 scoop of GNC Wheybolic Extreme – chocolate
6-8 oz. of low fat low cal. vanilla yogurt
2-3 oz. of Torani sugar free chocolate syrup

It is best to make this one before Laura and the kids get up because I only get to consume 1/2 of my breakfast. They absolutely love it.

Life is good,

Matt

Hmm is anyone else having problems with the pictures on this blog loading?
I’m trying to determine if its a problem on my end or if it’s the blog.
Any responses would be greatly appreciated.
