About

spacer Puterbaugh Farms is a fourth generation hop farming family that has been growing hops in the fertile Yakima Valley of Washington State since the 1930’s. The family forefathers migrated from France to Canada, and then made the move to the present farm site in Mabton, Washington.

Today Stacy, along with his family, works the 800 acre farm. Of those 800 acres, 700 acres are dedicated to hops, with the remaining acres growing apples, grapes, raspberries, corn & pumpkins.

Family Run

We take pride in knowing that four generations have worked to grow and harvest only the highest quality crops. We currently grow 19 different hop varieties but we are always expanding and looking toward the future.

Know that as hop growers, we provide hops that are dried at precise temperatures and handled with care. Our hops are kept on the farm in cold storage for year-round shipping and processing. The Puterbaugh Farms Hops Direct stencil on your bale of hops is our guarantee that you are receiving the highest quality hops straight from our family here at Puterbaugh Farms to you and yours.

Visiting Puterbaugh Farms

Visitors are always welcome but please call or email us prior to your visit to make arrangements. Our farm season begins in March with tractors discing the hop yards. We twine the hop fields the first part of April, then begin to train the young vines in May. Hops bloom in mid-June, a time when mother nature plays a major role in the ultimate hop quality. Irrigation and cultivation continue throughout the summer until we begin harvest, which starts in mid-August and lasts about 42 days. The best time to visit is during harvest as there is so much to see; it keeps us hopping around like crazy.
