Cloudscaling: OpenStack Pioneer, Advocate & Contributor

Cloudscaling is a founding community member and an early, public supporter of OpenStack’s initial launch in July 2010. The company was the first to deliver public cloud implementations of OpenStack storage (outside of Rackspace) and OpenStack compute. Cloudscaling also led the first major public and private OpenStack implementations in Korea and Russia.

As a pioneering expert in OpenStack technology, Cloudscaling is a charter gold corporate sponsor of the Foundation. In addition, co-founder Randy Bias was elected to the Foundation board of directors upon its formation in August 2012.

Cloudscaling is deeply involved in contributing to the open source community-powered innovation of the OpenStack project. The company has been a top-ten contributor of code to the project for the Essex, Folsom and Grizzly releases. Cloudscaling engineers are members of nova-core and have contributed to cinder, devstack, glance, horizon, keystone, nova, manuals, oslo, keystoneclient, nova-client, neutron (nee quantum), swift and tempest. Key contributions include the RPC abstraction layer, ZeroMQ RPC driver, security updates, Horizon UI updates, Google Compute Engine APIs (future) and numerous code reviews.
