CLE Alabama
Every member of the Alabama bar must complete a minimum of 12 hours of CLE each year. Six of those hours must be live programming (including live teleseminars.) Six may be pre-recorded video, including online seminars.

Law clinics help second and third-year students develop the tools they need to serve clients, the profession, and society. The University of Alabama School of Law offers a varied array of clinical choices to ensure that students can take advantage of this opportunity and of the school’s guarantee of at least one clinical experience.

LL.M. Degrees
The LL.M. curriculum is designed for outstanding candidates who cannot attend classes on campus. Through the use of innovative technology, your classes are delivered to you at work or at home.

Harper Lee Prize for Legal Fiction
To honor the 50th anniversary of the publication of To Kill a Mockingbird, The University of Alabama School of Law and the American Bar Association Journal partnered to create The Harper Lee Prize for Legal Fiction. In the spirit of To Kill a Mockingbird, the Prize will be given to the published book-length work of fiction that best exemplifies the role of lawyers in society, and their power to effect change.

Morris Dees Justice Award
The University of Alabama School of Law and Skadden, Arps established the Morris Dees Justice Award in honor of University of Alabama alumnus and civil rights attorney Morris Dees.

Cross-Disciplinary Program
The Cross-Disciplinary Legal Studies Program at the University of Alabama School of Law sponsors and supports a variety of research and educational opportunities for faculty and students.

International Programs
The Law School continues to expand and diversify its international law programs in Tuscaloosa and throughout the world. The Law School also offers an International LL.M. Program for foreign lawyers who spend nine months in residence studying U.S. law.

Public Interest Institute
Created in 2000, the Public Interest Institute of the University of Alabama School of Law is dedicated to the idea that the privilege of being an attorney includes service to one’s community.
