It is not always necessary to send the Geochron back to the factory, there are certain components that can be easily replaced by the Geochron owner. The light bulbs can be purchased at most home improvement stores. We use a Florescent Lamp #F15T8D in the Geochron. We suggest that you take a bulb with you to the store. If for some reason you can not find a bulb you can always order one direct from the factory. Just call 1-800-342-1661 or contact us.
The entire light fixtures for instance can be upgraded by just sending in the fixtures themselves.
New Electronic Ballasts
As of July 2010, the Geochron (North American units) light fixtures have been upgraded from magnetic to electronic ballasts. The benefits from this change are:
- longer lasting ballasts
- use less power
- generate less heat, meaning the plastics of the Geochron will last much longer
Light fixtures can be removed and shipped to us for rewiring. The process costs $75.00. Please include a Return Authorization Form for Electronic Ballast Upgrade.

Surface Mount Bracket Kit

Flush Mount Bracket Kit
Flush mounting the Geochron requires special “flush mount brackets” and a recess in the wall. The flush mount brackets enable you to swing the Geochron out of the recess to be able to access the setting knobs and electrical cord.
