Housing and Meal Plan Rates

All housing and meal plan fees are per person per semester. All fees include coin-free laundry, electricity, water, cable, and internet.

Application Fee

A non-refundable $200.00 annual application fee is collected when a student applies for housing at CSU. The application fee covers administrative costs related to the application and assignment process.

Residence Life Activity Fee

A $50.00 annual residence life activity fee is collected at the time of application to housing. The fee allows the Residence Life Office to provide regular educational and social activities within the residence halls.

Cancellation Policy as Stated in the Housing Agreement:

      CANCELLATION BY STUDENT

A. Full Cancellation.  To cancel this Agreement, Resident must submit a completed Housing Cancellation Form available at the University Housing website (www.ColumbusState.edu/life).  Except as described in Subparagraph B below (No Cost Termination), a Resident's cancellation of this Housing Agreement will result in accruing certain cancellation charges as described in Schedule B of this Agreement (Chart Above).

B. No Cost Termination.  Resident may cancel his/her Housing Agreement without cancellation charges upon submission of supporting documentation evidencing one of the following occurrences during the Term:

  • Graduation;
  • Call to active military duty;
  • Marriage;
  • Birth of a Resident's child;
  • Enrollment in a University-sponsored study abroad program or affiliated academic internship;
  • Approved medical withdrawal from the University;
  • Death of Resident

Any Resident cancelling for one of the reasons covered by this subparagraph will remain responsible for payment of the Housing Fee on a pro-rata basis through the date of cancellation.

Appeals for Extenuating Circumstances

Housing Contract

To request a release from the housing contract without penalty for extenuating circumstances, please submit a letter of request addressed to:
Appeals Committee, Residence Life Office, 4225 University Avenue, Columbus GA 31907 or submit an e-mail with the subject line "Contract Appeal" to housing@columbusstate.edu

In cases where the initial appeal is denied, students may submit a secondary appeal in writing to Dr. Gina Sheeks, Vice-President for Student Affairs, 4225 University Avenue, Columbus GA 31907 or via e-mail to sheeks_gina@columbusstate.edu
