That Moment When You Realize Umm Hello You’re An Adult …
My days are normally hectic so by the time I settle in for the night, I’ve had my fair share of talking to others and just want to enjoy a couple of hours to myself before bed.
Phone calls …
Ignore
Answering the door if a neighbor knocks …
Ignore
Talking at the dinner table …
Ignore
But when the babies (my great nieces) call by Facetime … I can’t ignore them. And I don’t like ignoring them because they make me smile, laugh and forget people are crazy. And that I kind of miss people. Even if they are crazy.
This is me and the babies calling each other …
And we’d just hang out and talk …
The oldest baby just bought a new pair of fashion glasses she was rockin’ and she was telling on her baby sister who had just ripped up dollar bills and they were all over the babies bedroom floor.
Then they walk around their room with their phone showing me all their new stuff and all their Barbies …
And then out of nowhere she said …
The babies: K, bye. Love you!
And because I’d been ignoring people and they’ve been my only BFF’s, I was all …
The sad loner: Hey wait! Don’t hang up on me.
Babies: Well we have to Facetime other people.
The sad loner: Well, I’m other people.
Babies: Well Auntie JoJo, we’ve been talking to you for like 2 hours.
The loner: Please don’t hang up on me.
Babies: Auntie JoJo, stop it! We have other friends we need to call.
The loner: But you’re my only friends. I don’t have any other friends. No one likes me.
Babies: Well we have other friends. K, bye. Love you!

And then I think, alright this is war little babies …
I swear, next time they call me, I’m telling them …
K bye Love you babies! I have a new Barbie I have to go play with …
Click!
Have a good day all!

Yep, sounds about how things generally go down for me in life as well. Haha. Sweet great nieces though, who obviously love their great Aunt! You are blessed.
And sweet silly babies they are!!!
They’re awesome when they’re young.
They are, Justin!
That’s why I always say take your kids fishing when they are young as they grow up FAST!
Ah yes, the beauty of having babies. It’s funny how they can be all so cute and lovable, yet can cause you so much grief too.
Nice post by the way. Soo true.
