  1. Yotpo Reviews - Get their SEO benefits...!

    Lots of people use the Yotpo reviews app but curently it is impossible for search engines to crawl / read the reviews content. This is a major SEO problem which can be easily solved...

    Use the Yotpo API to get the reviews & put them into the HTML so that the search engines can index their content. This will help create 'fresh' and unique content which search engines love and also allow stores using Yotpo (of which there are many on BC) to apply Schema Markup which means that product rating stars could appear in search engine search results increasing clickthrough rates and quite probably sales.

  2. Site Search Box Logic - Use "AND" not "OR"

    Currently the Bigcommerce site search box uses the logic "OR" in all search queries. This means that if a customer types in two search words, he will get all products that contain the first word plus all products that contain the second word. If the first word appears in 80 products and the second word appears in 3,000 products, he will get about 3,080 results to look through.

    This one factor is probably the biggest source of customer complaints for me since I switched to Bigcommerce a couple months ago. When my customers do a search, they want the one or two items which contain both keywords, or they want to see a "No results found" message if I don't currently have the item they are looking for.

    All previous site search boxes I've dealt with have used the logic "AND". If a customer would type in the two keywords in the example above and hit search, he would only get those products where the title contains BOTH keywords, which is exactly what my customers and I expect.

    I’ve been around the forums and have contacted technical support and everywhere I go I get agreement that the default logic should be “AND”. Even the tech support rep I just spoke to said that the store search logic causes him trouble when he is trying to search in a client’s store and he gets back irrelevant results. His advice was to try the SearchSpring app, but at several hundred dollars per month that is not a viable solution for me.

    Please change the Bigcommerce store search logic to “AND”. If there are clients who prefer “OR”, this should be an optional setting that can be switched in the admin area by the client.
