Summer Institute

Kidspace Inc. organizes an annual summer teacher institute to provide training in using arts-based strategies for the preK-8 age group in school and community-based settings. This week-long institute draws together teachers from the region, artists, staff from the three museums, faculty from Williams and MCLA, and experts in the field to explore the annual theme and consider an art-centric philosophy of teaching. Teachers experience art in the three museums and meet with artists, learn new teaching strategies, reflect on their practice, and develop classroom activities for Professional Development Points (PDPs) or graduate credit through MCLA.
