Mia Hebib explores a 360 degree view of jewelry art and design. 

Bosnian born, Croatian raised Mia started her jewelry education at the School for Applied Arts and Design in Zagreb, Croatia. Upon the end of the Balkan war in 1996, she moved to the United States. In 2001 she received a Bachelor of Fine Art degree in Metals and Jewelry from the Savannah College of Art and Design. Mia moved to New York City to continue her exploration in metal. Her pursuit led her to start a corporate jewelry design career with Jacmel Jewelry, Liz Claiborne, Henri Bendel and BCBG Generation and finally offer design consultation to Tory Burch jewelry design team. During this time she maintained her studio practice and in 2007 she launched her own jewelry studio under the name of Oblik Atelier. 

This jewelry atelier was a response to a need to do more hands on work, in a more intimate environment, and to revisit her fine art roots and connect them to her invaluable experience in the corporate design world. 

 Mia’s design language concerns itself with the journey of the line. It is simply interested in seeing the line move, create form, become a shape. It watches the line repeat itself numerous times to test the creator’s patience. The line mimics what happens in nature alas not intentionally rather intuitively. 

Each piece, within each of the collections, is handcrafted and limited to an edition of 13. This number is of personal significance in Mia’s life. The jewelry collections bring the handcrafted and fashion forward aspects along side each other, keeping the tradition alive while moving with the ever-changing trends of fashion. 

Mia’s work has been published in the New York Times Magazine, Lark Books publications, I-D Magazine to name a few. 

Mia also created  “Salon- Inventive Art Jewelry Exhibit in an Inventible Space” a temporary jewelry exhibit in Williamsburg, Brooklyn to share an excerpt of the prolific jewelry scene with a wide New York City audience.
