Identifying beginner trails. Terms common to the sport. Best practices.
M Wells suggested:
I am new to this hobby and love it so far. I am looking for guidance on what or what not to do. How to prevent injuries (blisters, toenails falling off etc). What equipment is really necessary and what is a waste of time. Good energy foods to eat before and during hike, allowing for diabetics as well. Good trails to start with. Understanding and defining terms and terminology. I have done several hikes and did Timpanogas this past week, probably wasn't ready for it. Basically looking for a beginners page/intro to hiking.
M Wells tag:summitpost.uservoice.com,2008-02-07:Event/14685888 2013-07-24T18:47:32-04:00 2013-07-24T18:47:32-04:00 Add more search categories-Wildflowers for example, or Flora and Fauna [updated]
When doing a search, I am restricted to five or six categories. Here's an example for the Olympics wildflowers: www.summitpost.org/object_list.php?object_type=3&context_search_3=search_context&tags_3=Flora&sort_select_3=score&parent_id=171068

Problem is that people would have to both attach it to the page and label the image type. Many folks simply don't do this.

As for searching by province, you can already do so for pages as seen here:
www.summitpost.org/object_list.php?object_type=1&distance_1=50&distance_city_1=vancouver%2C+BC&sort_select_1=object_name

Josh Lewis tag:summitpost.uservoice.com,2008-02-07:Event/14685761 2013-07-24T18:29:18-04:00 2013-07-24T18:29:18-04:00 try to reduce the negative parts of favoritism [updated]
Quality photos, pages, and posts often go ignored if posted by a 'regular' member. However you will see this trend go on through out society. For example I post on facebook about my amazing adventure and get two likes. Not really.

So if you can think of a creative way of going about this, feel free to speak up about it.

Josh Lewis tag:summitpost.uservoice.com,2008-02-07:Event/14638612 2013-07-19T00:37:32-04:00 2013-07-19T00:37:32-04:00 My name is Mike Zimmerman. I strongly recommend that you take Dave Daly off of the Umpah Point page as I wrote it in 2002 [updated]
I, Mike Zimmerman, wrote this page originally back in 2002 before 2/27/05 and some of the photos are mine (including the main photo which is mine I took it in February 2002 I know my photos) and I have two direct witnesses to corraborate this; please remove Dave Daley's name and put the Page:By name as Mike Zimmerman. This is clearly plagerism of my work I did on this, I do not appreciate this and it is wrong! He does not deserve getting credit for creating this page originally, I did!!
